This song, is originally sung by Christina Perri. I love the lyric, the beat and how the way she sang it. I heard this song is one of the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 Soundtrack. I don’t like the movie too much, but I love this song :).

===================================================================

Heart beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave
How can I love when I’m afraid to fall
But watching you stand alone
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow

One step closer

I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don’t be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What’s standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this

One step closer

I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don’t be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

One step closer
One step closer

I have died everyday waiting for you
Darling don’t be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I’ll love you for a thousand more

Dearest friends,

Where do I even begin?

Though it seems like it happened yesterday, an entire year has passed since I put out Ocean Eyes and I cannot begin to tell you how amazed I am due to all that has happened between then and now. A tremendous amount of asphalt has passed under the tires, a lot of miles put on the odometer and a lot of marvelous memories made along the way. It’s an overwhelming, invigorating feeling that can’t even be put into words. I catch myself thinking about the future often and I truly couldn’t be more excited. I’ve been immensely blessed by each and every opportunity I’ve had via Owl City and your endless support only continues to encourage me. I wholeheartedly cannot thank you enough.

Thus far, I’ve been quite a busy bee this summer, hidden away in the cavelike warmth of my basement, working like a mad scientist on the next Owl City record and I absolutely cannot wait for you to hear it. Things are coming together nicely but there’s still a lot of work to be done.

However, there’s something I’d like to share with you in the meantime.

Three and a half years ago, I recorded a collection of songs in my parent’s basement during the bleary-eyed hours of night when sleep and I could not bring ourselves to meet. I was a metalworker, working 6 AM to 4 PM at a warehouse in my little southern Minnesota town. I was writing, creating, thinking, imagining and breathing music with every second I had to spare. Music has always been my dream, but at that point in time, it was merely a feather tossed to the wind. Regardless, my spirits were far from dampened and I created music as fast and as furiously as I could. In my little basement bedroom, I had an old Dell computer, Reason 2.5, a friend’s borrowed Behringer C-1 condenser, a Behringer 8 channel analog mixer and my uncle’s old Alvarez. I didn’t have a clue what I was doing but I was a dreamer and music was my escape so I gave it everything I had. Never expecting my music to be heard anywhere but by my parents through the floorboards above, I wrote for my own ears. I was both artist and audience and I called myself Sky Sailing.

I’ve kept these recordings secret for a long time and they’ve never seen the light of day until now. Long before Owl City was ever a spark of a flame, a lot of blue-collared working days were spent absentmindedly daydreaming about what would ultimately become this collection of songs. From the perfectionist musician’s perspective, a song is never truly “finished” but rather “abandoned” and thus, after a lot of inspiration and reckless experimentation, I emerged from the basement with a 11 song record which I affectionately entitled, An Airplane Carried Me To Bed.

This album is a step into the past, the documented account of a shy boy from Minnesota with more hopes and dreams than he knew what to do with. When you listen to this record, you can hear naivety, innocence, inexperience and the wide-eyed imaginings of a wishful thinker. It’s both light and dark, optimistic and melancholy. Unpolished and dusty, it’s an antique and therefore holds a truly unique and graceful aesthetic within. Though there has always been just one artist behind the music, before there was Owl City there was Sky Sailing and I consider it a great honor to finally find this opportunity to share it with you. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.

If by chance you ever feel as though you’ve come to know these songs or empathize with the emotions therein, please consider yourself a friend of mine because in a manner of speaking, you know me. As the saying goes, one can truly glimpse the artist through his/her art, and that expression certainly proves faithful in my case. This music is my heart and soul. This is who I am.

With that being said, I am so very glad to meet you.

With all due respect,

Adam Young

Cleopatra Stratan

Cleopatra Stratan

Do you ever heard that name? Cleopatra Stratan. Actually, I knew her is very late in 2010. Why? because she is a super young girl who have many great achievements before this year. Okay, if you’re same with me, let me tell you about who is Cleopatra Stratan and her great achievements.

Cleopatra Stratan based on Wikipedia is a young Rumanian singer who has born at October 6 2002 in Chişinău, Moldova. She is a daughter of Pavel Stratan, also a singer in Moldova-Rumania. Pavel Stratan was in a studio recording a song and as 3 years old “at that time” Cleopatra was hanging around the studio. One time she grabbed a microphone and started singing the song along Pavel. Everybody was so stunned that they ended up recording the song with Cleopatra as main vocals rather than Pavel, awesome!

On 2006, she came one of the youngest people ever to score commercial success as a singer, with her first album La vârsta de trei ani (“At the age of 3″). And Ghiţă song as the first single of that album success make her get a double platinum disk in the summer of 2006, it also the biggest hit of that album and make her famous as a youngest singer along Rumania. Even, her first album La vârsta de trei ani have already been translated to English and Spanish. She has many fan base along the world seems like a tremendous, and it’s still growing, Indonesia?

On August 20 2006, Cleopatra Stratan also had her first concert (20+ songs) and she is about to get into Guinness Book as the youngest artist to record an album and have a live concert. Oow… Cleopatra started her first concert saying: “My name is Cleopatra Stratan and even though I am only three years old I am determined to sing you both songs from my album called “La varsta de trei ani” and from my father album called “Amintiri din copilarie”. I will make my debut with this evening”. The concert was limited to 400 people and Cleopatra Stratan was accompanied on guitar by her father, Pavel Stratan. What a combinations.

But, actually I regret about her lyrics. It turns out many adult words and not suitable for 3 years old kid. Well, maybe in her country it’s okay but in Indonesia it’s very no even Indonesian kid sing an Adult songs. In Indonesia, kid talk about romance between a girl and a boy, it’s all about love. But Cleopatra Stratan said “tiiiiit-censored” on her rap song duet with Rumanian local singer, I forget his name :D.

Forget about her words on her song, I still love her as a good singer. Eventough, she said “censored” word I believe she doesn’t understand what she said. And I am going 19 on may 2nd, so I am an adult now. It’s okay for me to listen her songs, but not for my nephew or your kid 😀

Actually I would like to say thanks UFM Radio who introduce Owl City to me on early December 2009. I listened Fireflies by Owl City at that time and “at the first” I don’t know who is the singer of that song, but I do like it. UFM said that Owl City is one of soundtrack makers of Twilight Movie, but actually I don’t like Twilight itself, just like Owl City music. Owl City introduce a kind of music just like tell to me that “It’s your soul, Zar!!”, inside of their song is me. My friends ask me about what kind of music which I love the most, really difficult to answer that question cause I don’t know what kind of music which The Killers play for me and now Owl City. Just like a dance music and up beat electronic is my favourite music. I don’t know why I like Owl City, but their music is always in my mind just like a toxic. hahaha.

Owl City - Ocean Eyes Album

I think Owl City is contained many people in a group like others band, but I wrong. When I browse many artichle about Owl City, I got that Owl City is the electronic brainchild of Adam Young, who launched the project in 2007 while living at his parents’ home in Owatonna, Minesota. Troubled by insomnia, Young began spending his evenings in the household basement, where a computer and several instruments provided a welcome diversion from his sleeping patterns. He eventually combined those diversions into a blend of electronica and emo-pop, using little more than his computer and various keyboards to record the material. Songs were uploaded to MySpace upon completion, and Young began attracting a surprising amount of attention on the networking site. Of particular note was “Hello Seattle,” a fabricated ode to the Emerald City whose viral popularity earned Young a record contract with Universal Republic. Ocean Eyes, his debut release for the label, arrived in 2009, coinciding with Owl City’s first national tour. Amazing!!!

Owl City packed their songs on 2 CDs and here is the Disc 01 contents:

01. Cave In

02. The Bird and The Worm

03. Hello Seattle

04. Umbrella Beach

05. The Saltwater Room

06. Dental Care

07. Meteor Shower

08. On The Wing

09. Fireflies

10. The Tip Of The Iceberg

11. Vanilla Twilight

12. Tidal Wave

Disc 02 :

01. Hot Air Balloon

02. Butterfly Wings

03. Rugs From Me To You

04. Sunburn

05. Hello Seattle

06. If My Heart Was a House

07. Strawberry Avalanche

Yups, there are 19 songs inside the CDs. Guess what? I love all of that and “Meteor Shower”, “Hello Seattle”, “Fireflies” are my favourite from all of them. Not only cause “Meteor Shower” is a soundtrack of my favourite TV Programs “Greys Anathomy” but also the simple words of that song but rich of music. For me it something that I call luxurious music, simple but deeply. I believe that many people in Indonesia are agree with me that Owl City is recommended as a good musician, Fajar Wirazdi is my supporter, aren’t you? hahaha. Success for Owl City and keep on track when you serve a music to me later.
